St John :: Area Committee

St John touches most communities and parts of New Zealand society. We bring care, kindness, comfort and understanding to every person we come into contact with - no matter what the situation, regardless of race, gender, health or status. Our people display significant commitment to all New Zealanders.

St John is comprehensively engaged at a local community level. Area Committee Volunteers play a vital role in contributing business, fundraising or administrative skills to support St John activities in the local community. Area Committees focus their energies locally, with Regions taking responsibility for ensuring that everyone in their geographic area of responsibility is working as a team to benefit St John as a whole. The arrangement is like that of a franchise: individual responsibility where it is most effective, but with information shared centrally and delivery of all products and services to prescribed practices and systems.

Key requirements are:

  • A genuine concern for the community
  • A belief in the value and contribution of St John
  • An appreciation of different cultures

If you have what it takes to become an Area Committee volunteer phone us toll-free on 0800 ST JOHN (78 5646) or complete the expression of interest form.
