Brenda joined St John as a cadet in Dunedin where she obtained her Grand Prior. Her roles have included – Cadet Leader, Area and Regional Nursing Officer, Events Nurse, Trainer of Healthcare Caregivers / Childcare for the Youth Section, Volunteer Ambulance Officer, Committee member and is currently Chairperson for the Greater Wellington Area Committee.

Brenda’s background is nursing with a particular focus in child health working both in hospitals and in community organisations. As well as having hands-on experience, she has also held roles in operations and information development. Her particular focus currently is around using technology to improve health outcomes. Brenda was seconded to several roles during the COVID-19 response of the Ministry of Health.
