Mental Health First Aid provides course participants with the skills and knowledge to recognise and respond to individuals experiencing mental health concerns.

1 in 5 New Zealanders experience problems with their mental health each year.

If someone injures themselves, you get out your first aid kit. But what do you do if someone has a panic attack or symptoms of depression. Do you have a mental health first aid kit?

You can get the tools to be able to help at the St John Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course.

With the Health and Safety at Work Act defining health as physical and mental health there is more emphasis on managing risks to mental wellbeing and mental health just like any other health and safety risk.
