FAQs

If I set up an online Everyday Hero fundraising page, am I automatically entered in the race?

Establishing an Everyday Hero fundraising page does not automatically enter you in the race. You will need to purchase your entry separately. You can purchase your entry here - opens Feb 18. Get in as early as you can to lower the price of entry.

I’m not sure I can run a full marathon. Do I have other race options?

Yes, you have plenty of race options to suit your fitness level. The ASB Auckland Marathon allows you to select from the full marathon (42km), half marathon (21kms), 11km traverse, or family marathon (5km). Don’t sweat it! Go at your pace and enjoy the race! Check out the course here.

How much does entry cost?

It really depends on which race you select and when you make your entry purchase. For more entry info click here.

How do I start fundraising? I’m a newbie!

We are here to help you every step of the way, with great resources and regular emails to help you smash those targets! The easy, first step is to visit “Join team” to set up your fundraising page and enter your details. Secondly, share it with your friends and family to let them know you’re fundraising to help St John save lives! Then get training, post regular updates to your social media pages and before you know it, supporters will start donating to your page.

What if ASB Auckland Marathon does not take place on 1 November 2020, for reasons relating to the Covid-19 Pandemic? Where possible, the event will be rescheduled, and if this happens all registered athletes (those who have already paid for their entry through the official Ironman event website) will have their race registration automatically moved to the new date. We will provide as much notice as we can. Please contact the event coordinators if you have any further questions or concerns on aucklandmarathon@ironman.com  or call +64 (0) 9 601 9590.
