St John will reimburse your event ENTRY COSTS!!

FAQs

If I set up a Givealittle fundraising page, am I automatically entered in the race?

No, establishing a Givealittle fundraising page does not automatically enter you in the race. You will need to purchase your entry separately. You can purchase your entry by visiting the ASB Auckland Marathon website here .

I’m not sure I can run a full marathon. Do I have other race options?

Yes, you have plenty of race options to suit your fitness level. The ASB Auckland Marathon website allows you to select from the ASB Auckland Marathon (42km), Barfoot & Thompson Half Marathon (21kms), John West 11km Traverse, or the NZ Avocado (5km). Don’t sweat it! Go at your pace and enjoy the race! Check out the course here.

How much does entry cost?

As a guide, the general entry fee (adult) is $55* for the 5k and $185* for the full marathon but really depends on which race you select and when you make your entry purchase. For more entry info and current prices click here. *prices current at 24/6/21

How do I start fundraising? I’m a newbie!

We are here to help you every step of the way, with great resources and regular emails to help you smash those targets! Once you have purchased your event entry via the Auckland Marathon website, the easy next step is to visit our Givealittle event page and click on the green "Participate” button to set up your individual (or team if you are running with family or friends) fundraising page and enter your details. Then share your page with all you contacts to let them know you’re fundraising to help St John save lives!

Once you start training, post regular updates to your social media pages and before you know it, supporters will start donating to your page.

If you are unsure about how to set up your Givealittle page or don’t have much experience with fundraising sites or on how to share the event with your friends on social media, don’t hesitate to contact Jo for advice.

In the past, some of our Lifesavers have boosted their online fundraising by holding raffles, bake sales and more innovative ideas! Once you pre-register by clicking the Sign Up link at the top of this page, we will send you a toolkit which has ideas for further fundraising activities if you should wish.

What if ASB Auckland Marathon does not take place on 31 October 2020, for reasons related to the Covid-19 pandemic?

Where possible, the event will be rescheduled, and if this happens all registered athletes(those who have already paid for their entry through the official ASB Auckland Marathon website will have their race registration automatically moved to the new date. We will provide as much notice as we can. For more information, click here.
