Lorna joined St John in 1997 as an Events Volunteer and since then has also held volunteer roles as Area Youth Manager then District Youth Manager in Nelson/Marlborough.  As a volunteer ambulance volunteer Lorna gained her National Certificate in Ambulance in 2004. In 2020 Lorna was elected the Nelson/Marlborough representative on the South Island Region Order Affairs Committee, and was subsequently re-elected for a second triennium in 2023. Lorna has also held a paid role as Public Education Tutor, and in 2017 was appointed to her current role as Area Committee Relationship Manager (now Community Engagement Manager) for Tasman.

Lorna was admitted as a Member of the Order in 2019 and promoted to Officer of the Order in 2023. Lorna lives in Blenheim and is based at Blenheim Ambulance Station.
