St John is working together with ACC and HQSC to reduce the risk of falls. You can play a pivotal role in working with us to assess those at risk in our communities and provide them with information that helps them reduce their risk of falling.

Sending a St John Medical Alarm service referral

The most efficient way for you to refer your patients for a St John Medical Alarm is to complete the easy to use, self-populating e-referral form via Healthlink. If you haven’t used the e-referral form before or want refresher training please contact your local St John Healthcare Representative. Alternatively you can look at one of the Quick Start Guides below.

HQSC has developed The Stay independent toolkit for clinicians, that comprises a booklet, a poster suitable for waiting room display and a consumer brochure which encourages older people to self-assess their falls risk and follow that with a conversation with their health professional.


Comprehensive information is included on the ACC website. ACC also have a guide which includes checklists to help patients - these include keeping mobile, safe shoes and keeping a safe environment
