Belvue Bay

Our household have never had a medical emergency and moving from Christchurch to the Sounds seemed risky as we live a fair way from town.

One morning I had a heart attack and knew time was important. My wife called 111 and within 15 minutes the first of two ambulances arrived.

The care was immediate and very professional. I am a first aider, but what they did was far beyond my level. From Havelock to Wairau to Nelson was all done within 3 hours with treatment all along the way. I did not realise there were so many dedicated people around, all willing to help a stranger. It was very humbling and I will never forget.
