Sonya was made a Chancery Appointee in January 2023 to provide additional support to and deputise for the Chancellor and Deputy Chancellor.  

She has been the Priory Officer Hospitaller for several years, advocating for the Ophthalmic services St John provide in the middle east.

Sonya has spent her career primarily working for health and social service community-based organisations. She is a Director at PwC supporting organisations in strategy and Hauora.
