Of the approximately 2,000 people who are treated for a cardiac arrest by St John each year, 27% will be resuscitated and transported to hospital, and 13% will later be discharged. Traditionally we have produced one annual Cardiac Arrest Report for all of New Zealand, but this year there are three: one for St John, one in conjunction with Wellington Free Ambulance and one for all New Zealand.
