In its formative years the area ambulance was housed in numerous garages around the town until a permanent site was found on Jocelyn Street, a Council lease section that Hato Hone St John developed into a facility that catered for all arms of its local organisation.
In 2011 to make way for a council development, Hato Hone St John moved from this site to temporary premises and work began to establish a permanent site and purpose built facility in Te Puke.
Thanks to the work of its dedicated Area Committee and the generosity of local residents, trusts and businesses work on a new facility is nearing completion and a new facility will be completed late this year and officially opened in early 2014.
