There are many ways to donate or fundraise for us, and we value them all. Big or small, every bit helps to pay the operating costs of our emergency and community services and keep New Zealanders living healthier, happier and longer lives.

Where does my money go?

Give to remember someone special

If someone close to you passes away, rather than people sending flowers for their funeral you might like to suggest a donation to us instead. You can also mark the anniversary of someone’s passing by making an In Memory donation, which can be a wonderful way to honour a loved one. In Memory donations can be made at other times too, such as for a special anniversary that means a lot to you.

Other ways to give

Give a much-needed item

You might like to donate money for specific items or medical equipment. We'd love to help you to select an appropriate gift. Please give us a call on 0800 STJOHN or get in touch via email and we can talk to you about some options.

Give items we could sell

If you have items that you don’t need anymore, we’d be happy to have them. We can sell them on and use the proceeds to help run our services. Please drop off your donations at your nearest Hato Hone St John Retail Store.

Donate a service

If you have a special skill we could use, that can be a big help to us, too. Pro bono arrangements help keep our costs down, so that more money can go towards maintaining our emergency and community services.

What our donors say about giving to Hato Hone St John

“My generous, loving dad recently passed away, and was always a strong supporter of Hato Hone St John. The family and I have agreed to pass on some of his Trust to a deserving charity, in his name. This honours him and his legacy in the best way possible.”

“I really want to give back to Hato Hone St JohnHSJ. You never know when you will need an ambulance – plus they run so many incredible community programmes. I like to give to charity where I can, I think it’s important.”
