The Hato Hone St John operations team in Te Puke consists of four full-time ambulance personnel / paramedics assisted by a crew of 16 dedicated volunteers.
Our operations team provide both ambulance services for medical and emergency incidents and medical services at community, sporting and entertainment events for Te Puke and surrounding areas. The Te Puke area covered by Hato Hone St John stretches from Papamoa in the west to the Matata straights in the east and half way to Rotorua on State Highway 33.
As well as responding to emergencies, St John also:
- Transports patients for arranged hospital admissions and to hospital outpatient clinics
- Transfers patients between hospitals or from hospital to home
- Assists police and fire services by providing medical cover in emergency situations
- Arranges and crews air ambulance flights
- Responds to Hato Hone St John personal medical alarm activations
