I have been an active member of St John for the past 41 years having joined as a cadet.  My involvement in St John encompasses many aspects allowing me an excellent overview of the many functions within the organization.

I have held roles as an Operational Volunteer, First Responder and Paramedic, Volunteer Team Leader and Volunteer Team Manager, Nursing & Medical Team Lead for Northern Region, National Youth Competitions Liaison Officer and Regional Competitions Chair, ROAC member and Regional Honours Committee member.

My longstanding involvement with St John combined with my background in healthcare gives me a wide perspective of both the organization and community needs.  In my day to day profession I am the Nurse Unit Manager of a large and busy Intensive Care Unit; this role requires excellent people management skills, service delivery, resource management, innovation and a strong commitment to quality and safety. For the past 19 years I have been travelling to the Palestinian Territories with a voluntary medical team where we undertake children’s heart surgery while assisting the local teams to develop and grow their own service with a long term view to self-sufficiency.

I hold a good understanding of the history of our organization and am fully engaged, demonstrate the values of St John and am an open, approachable and willing learner
