St John in Schools delivers a range of fun, interactive and engaging programmes teaching tamariki (children) and rangatahi (youth) how to be lifesavers in an emergency, how to avoid injury, and about becoming guardians of wellbeing in their community.

Our programmes have been created with expertise from ACC, SafeKids Aotearoa, Civil Defence, CORE Education within expertise at Hato Hone St JohnThe programmes are delivered by our Community Educators across the motu (country), teaching pre-school, primary, intermediate school children and youth these vital skills.

First Aid

Children learn how to respond to an emergency and how to keep safe, including how to call 111, perform CPR and use an AED.

 

 Mental Wellbeing

A powerful programme helps tamariki to understand their strengths, build positive relationships, and develop resilience and confidence to navigate their world.

 Resilience and Response 

Programmes to help young people build health and wellbeing skills, grow confidence, and learn how to respond in real-life emergencies.

 

Courage in Action Award 

We proudly recognise tamariki who show bravery or act to improve others’ wellbeing. Our Courage in Action Award celebrates their actions with a certificate and cape, and recognition shared with whānau.
