Kings College get a tour of a St John Ambulance

Kings College in Auckland has embarked on school-wide fundraising programme for St John, starting with a mufti day. The programme is being managed by Warner Wilder, Chaplain at Kings College.

“Kings decided to support St John because there are very few of us who have not been touched by the services of St John in some way or another. We believe that St John does the most fantastic job. We’re only at the beginning of our fundraising plan for St John, but we’ve already raised $1600 with a mufti day”, says Warner.

St John Fundraising Manager Don Scandrett has been helping to organise functions at the college to inform staff, parents and students about the community programmes St John provides in addition to our emergency ambulance service. Students are also being offered the opportunity to learn CPR during a lunchtime demonstration.

“The enthusiastic support of the whole Kings College community is great. To have everyone from the youngest students to their parents and grandparents advocating for St John is just fantastic”, says Don.

Next on Kings’ fundraising agenda is a raffle, followed by further support around St John Week and our annual street appeal in June.
