Demand on our emergency services is continuing to grow. Your generous support enables our frontline teams to make life-changing differences to New Zealanders every day.
Because of you, we had a portable ventilator on the scene within minutes, to support 19-year-old Sophie, who had been kicked by her horse. This lifesaving ventilator reduced her pain, monitored her blood pressure, and kept her breathing until she got to the hospital.
Because of you, we had a First Response Unit quickly reach father of two Sean in rural Coromandel, who had collapsed in his driveway from a cardiac arrest. This specialist vehicle, made for all terrains, was fully equipped with a defibrillator, which stabilised Sean until he reached the hospital.
Because of you, 18-year-old champion cyclist Cameron was able to be anaesthetised on the scene of an accident with a car. Cameron was put on life support right there and then, an action which was crucial in protecting his brain and saving his life.
Because of you, we had Major Incident Support Teams and extra resources ready to go in anticipation of Cyclone Gabrielle. These teams provided crucial support to weather impacted communities.
It’s thanks to your ongoing and generous support that Sophie, Sean and Cameron are back to doing what they love and living full lives with their whānau and loved ones. These are just a few people who have been helped and supported thanks to donors like you.
We can’t thank you enough for your support, and we have no doubt that your donations will continue to touch many lives this financial year. Thank you.
