EMERGENCY CREWS RESPOND TO INCIDENT IN WOOLSTON, CHRISTCHURCH

Hato Hone St John was notified at 1.13pm of a hazardous substance incident on Ferry Road in Woolston, Christchurch.

Twenty emergency vehicles responded to the scene including ten ambulances, three rapid response units, five operations managers, a Major Incident Support Team vehicle and Command Unit.

Hato Hone St John ambulance crews assessed forty people, including seven patients (two adults and five children) who were treated and transported to Christchurch Hospital - one in a serious condition and six in a moderate condition. A further two patients were treated for minor injuries and referred to further care.
