UPDATED STATEMENT: FIRE AT CROMWELL AMBULANCE STATION

Edward Connolly |

Following investigations conducted by Fire and Emergency New Zealand, Hato Hone St John can confirm an uncommon electrical fault caused the fire at Cromwell Ambulance Station that resulted in two off-duty ambulances being heavily damaged.

Hato Hone St John takes the health and safety of our patients and ambulance staff very seriously. We regularly conduct maintenance and service checks on all of our vehicles to ensure all vehicles are safe to be used by staff and serve communities.

We would like to reassure the Cromwell community that the main Cromwell ambulance is still fully operational and available to serve the region. Other resources and vehicles are also already available and fully operational in the short term. There is no impact on our service in the Cromwell community and surrounding areas.
