St John can confirm it has responded to a house explosion in the suburb of Northwood in Christchurch this morning, sending six ambulances and two managers to the scene.

Six patients have been assessed at the scene, ranging from moderate to critical injuries, and will be taken to Christchurch Hospital. St John was notified of the incident at 10.18am and is still at the scene.
