St John Manukau officially opens the doors to Auckland’s first St John Opportunity Shop in Howick on Wednesday December 5.

The shop opening coincides with International Volunteers Day, which is fitting due to the number of volunteers who will be actively helping at the new shop – around 20.

St John Manukau Chair of the Opportunity Shop Establishment Committee Beryl Dunn says the new opportunity shop is expected to help support the work of St John in the Howick, and the surrounding Manukau area.

“St John has a number of independently-run opportunity shops operating in other parts of the country, but this is the first to open in metropolitan Auckland,” says Mrs Dunn.

The new shop - located at Unit 7, 219 Moore St, Howick -needs donated goods including electronics, clothing, toys and bric-a-brac.

If you have items to donate or would like to volunteer in the shop please contact store manager Penny Blackman on 5376137.
